大野亀

新潟県広報公聴課の仕事とはいえ、実際にはボランティアとして防災ヘリ「コシカゼ」に同乗し、県内の災害地を巡った際の一枚です。自分でヘリをチャーターする機会はなかなかありませんので、せっかくの体験を活かし、飛行中の風景もカメラに収めました。

地上で車を走らせていると、近くに見える場所でもなかなか到着しないことがあります。これは、シンプルな形をした大きな岩が、距離感や大きさの感覚を狂わせてしまうからかもしれません。ヘリコプターは飛行機ほどではないものの、やはりスピードが速く、ものの大きさや距離が相対的なものであることを実感させてくれます。

北の果て、夏の佐渡外海府（そとかいふ）は、日本海に面した荒々しい岩礁が冬とは全く異なる表情を見せてくれます。そのダイナミックな景観は、季節ごとに新たな魅力を発見させてくれます。

Although this was part of my job at the Niigata Prefecture Public Relations and Public Hearing Division, it was actually a volunteer activity where I rode along on the disaster prevention helicopter “Koshikaze” and visited disaster-affected areas within the prefecture. Since I rarely have the opportunity to charter a helicopter myself, I made the most of this experience and captured the scenery during the flight with my camera.

When driving on the ground, even places that appear close by can take a long time to reach. This may be because large, simply shaped rocks can distort one’s sense of distance and scale. While not as fast as an airplane, a helicopter still moves quickly, making one acutely aware that the size and distance of objects are relative.

At the northern tip of Sado Island, the summer landscape of Sotokaihu, facing the Japan Sea, reveals a completely different expression from winter. Its dynamic scenery offers new charms to discover with each season.
