いつもと違う八海山を発見

折り重なる山々。その向こうから差し込む朝の光と、清々しい湿度が肌に心地よく感じられる風景が広がっています。この道と並行して流れる魚野川の清流から水を引き込んだ早苗田は、まるで湖のように静かに水を湛えています。

ここ魚沼は、日本でも有数の水の豊かな土地。いや、おそらく日本一と言っても過言ではないでしょう。風もなく、少しひんやりとした空気の中、広がる景色に心が解き放たれるような開放感を覚えながらシャッターを切りました。

もし他の地域から偶然この地を訪れた人がいれば、一目で心を奪われ、ここに住みたいと思うかもしれません。しかし、こうした美しい風景も、厳しい冬の季節があるからこそ生まれるものなのかもしれません。

Layers of mountains stretch out before you. The morning light streaming in from beyond them and the refreshing humidity feel pleasant on your skin. The rice paddies, which draw water from the clear waters of the Fish River that flows parallel to this road, are filled with water as calm as a lake.

This region of Uonuma is one of Japan’s most water-rich areas—perhaps even the richest in the country. In the still, slightly cool air, I felt a sense of liberation as I captured the expansive scenery through my lens.

If someone were to visit this area by chance from another region, they might be instantly captivated and desire to settle here. However, such beautiful landscapes may only emerge because of the harsh winter season that precedes them.
