水の流れと風の通り道

広い荒川河原では、村民が協力して花畑の整備に取り組んでいます。夕日が差し込むと、花々が一つひとつ浮かび上がり、立体感が増して見えます。その先には朴坂山が望め、地域の地形や川の流れによって、雲や霧の現れ方もそれぞれ異なります。雲もまた、この地ならではの風景の一部です。
誰もいない秋の爽やかな河川敷でカメラを構えると、この雲も風も、そして水の流れも、この地域にしかないものだと強く感じます。
平成の大合併には参加しなかった関川村は、観光においても独自の道を歩み続けています。時折、この村がふるさとをふるさととして守り続けている貴重な場所だと実感します。地域で酒造りを営んでいた村長が、合併しない決断を下した英断に、改めて感謝の気持ちが湧いてきます。

On the wide Arakawa Riverbank, villagers are working together to maintain a flower garden. When the setting sun shines through, the flowers appear one by one to emerge, giving them a more three-dimensional appearance. Beyond that, Mt. Pakusaka can be seen, and clouds and fog appear in different ways depending on the topography of the area and the flow of the river. Clouds are also part of the unique scenery of this area.
When I hold my camera on an empty, fresh autumn riverbed, I strongly feel that these clouds, the wind, and the flow of the water are all unique to this region.
Sekikawa Village, which did not participate in the Heisei merger, continues to pursue its own path in tourism. From time to time, I realize that this village is a precious place that has kept its hometown as its hometown. I feel a renewed sense of gratitude for the wisdom of the village mayor, who ran the local sake brewery, in making the decision not to merge.
