Blue Paddy

「青い田んぼ」という意味を持つこの言葉は、ピアニストで作曲家のウォン・ウィンツァン氏の演奏会を初めて企画した際、チラシに使用しました。CDを聴いた後、その音楽のイメージに最もふさわしいと感じ、表面に使用しました。

通常、演奏者の姿など具体的な写真がチラシの表面に配置されることが多いものですが、私にとって初めての主催公演だったため資料も少なく、PR活動に苦労した記憶があります。その後新潟県内で7回の演奏会を開催しています。

先日、10年ぶりにリリースされた新しいCDが届き、今は車の中で聴き始めています。ウォン・ウィンツァン氏の音楽は、あの時のチラシ写真のようにクールさと優しさが表裏一体となって響き、突き放されることのない、ぎりぎりの距離感で一音一音を体感できる世界へと誘ってくれます。ウォン・ウィンツァン氏は、その音楽や活動、そして生き方そのものが、常に新たな境地を目指して模索し続けているように感じられます。

After listening to the CD, I felt it best suited the image of the music, so I used it on the front of the flyer.

Usually, specific photos of the performers are placed on the front of flyers, but since this was my first organized concert, there were few materials available, and I remember that I had a hard time with PR activities. Since then, we have held seven concerts in Niigata Prefecture.

I recently received a new CD released for the first time in 10 years and am now listening to it in my car. Mr. Wong’s music is just like the picture on the flyer at that time… It may be presumptuous of me to describe it this way, but coolness and gentleness resonate inextricably, inviting us to a world where we can experience each and every note with a sense of distance that is just barely there, without being pushed away. Mr. Wong Wing Tsang’s music, activities, and way of life itself seem to be a constant search for new frontiers.
